Cybersecurity & Remote Sensing Ranked No.1

๐ŸŒŸ Congratulations to CSIRO for being ranked as the leading research institute in several fields in the latest Research Magazine published by the Australian! https://lnkd.in/gYKfrabf

I want to call out two teams within my own research program at CSIRO’s Data61

๐Ÿ”’ The cybersecurity and quantum systems team has consistently held the #1 spot over the past few years. This is a testament to their outstanding achievements in cybersecurity, including international leadership in many sub-areas. A huge thank you to all of our partners, especially Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre, DST Group, and Home Affairs for their support over the years.

๐ŸŒฑ The other team I want to celebrate (and I must admit I often don’t give them enough of the spotlight) is the incredible remote sensing, satellite/aerial image analysis team. Their work spans from Australia’s carbon accounting to agriculture, environmental landscapes, and urban monitoring. Their pioneering use of deep learning for satellite image analysis played a significant role in advancing the field, ranking among the top 10 most cited globally. They’re part of CSIRO’s broader remote sensing capability, and their contributions are truly inspiring. ๐Ÿ‘ ๐ŸŽ‰ Congratulations to all involved!
