SMH/Australian/WSJ: Responsible AI via the ESG Lens

๐Ÿงฉ How can investors and company boards/executives understand, evaluate, and report on AI risks and opportunities through the lens of the ESG framework? We are partnering with forward-looking equity fund manager, Alphinity Investment Management, to develop a world-first framework, linking CSIRO’s Data61‘s responsible AI risk assessment/mitigation methods with ESG factors and investor mindsets.๐Ÿค

๐Ÿ—ž It’s fantastic that mainstream media outlets have shown significant interest in Australia’s leading role in this. Here are some reports from The Australian and SMH. https://lnkd.in/gkYpTuXxhttps://lnkd.in/gtqseqyK More international media coverage is to follow.๐ŸŒ

Here are a few takeaways I’d like to emphasize:
1๏ธโƒฃ The ESG framework is a powerful tool for understanding, assessing, and communicating AI-related risks and opportunities.๐Ÿ’ก

2๏ธโƒฃ Given the fast-paced evolution of AI technology, it’s imperative for investors to encourage companies to incorporate and pioneer responsible AI best practices that align with their specific contexts.๐Ÿš€

3๏ธโƒฃ Companies should embrace a culture of “experimentation” in responsibly adopting AI. Collaboration with the community and research organizations is key to staying abreast of the rapidly evolving AI landscape.๐Ÿ”ฌ

We’re thrilled to be part of this innovative journey, steering the responsible growth of AI. Stay tuned for more!๐ŸŽ‰
