Just finished my India trip. This was my last stop on my journey to build a global research network for responsible and safe AI, having already connected with partners in America, Europe, the UK, Singapore, Japan, and Malaysia.
On the government side, I met with the Principal Scientific Advisor’s Office and the Department of Science and Technology to discuss India’s AI strategy and how R&D can accelerate the adoption of safe and responsible AI. I gave a talk at the Australian High Commission on “The Road to Realising Responsible AI.”
In the industry sector, I joined the RISE Accelerator event, which focuses on accelerating Indian and Australian science-backed technology startups. I gave several talks and held meetings with TCS, Zoho, NASSCOM, and others. Additionally, I joined two panels at the Responsible AI workshop between India and Australia, organised by the Indian Institute of Management and Australia’s Bangalore consulate to foster further collaboration.
I also visited India’s Centre for Responsible AI at IIT Madras before heading to Hyderabad for the International Conference on Software Architecture (ICSA 2024). There, we presented CSIRO’s Data61 recent work on the system architecture of foundation-model-based agents, which was recently cited in the Bengio report at the AI Safety Summit: “Towards Responsible Generative AI: A Reference Architecture for Designing Foundation Model-based Agents,” https://arxiv.org/abs/2311.13148
